Grandma's Coming!

It's 6:47pm. And I'm impatient. I wish I could grab hold of the universal clock... and wind it to the next hour. That sounds selfish. And it is. But right now I can't think straight. I'm too excited.

Grandma's coming!

Her plane will be landing at 7:50 tonight. And then she'll come home with us. To live! This has been a dream in the making for 17 years, and now she has finally been granted the resident visa! She belongs here now!

It has been 8 years since we've lived together, and I look forward to having the old days back. I will be falling asleep to the sound of happiness tonight. We will be recounting many memories. We'll be talking about what life has been like in Haiti since we've been apart. She'll be stepping foot in the US for the first time. She'll be meeting the twins for the first time. She'll be seeing Peter again for the first time since he was a toddler. The separation is soon over. We'll be doing much laughing. I can't wait.
